The Reformer is a student-run online platform specifically designed for the youth. According to the United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) National Human Development Survey, Pakistan currently has the highest proportion of young people, as 64% of the total population is below the age of 30, while 29% is between the ages of 15 and 29. These statistics show that youth constitute more than half of the country's population, yet they are not given a say in its matters. We as students have observed several problems that we aim to address through our platform: a lack of opportunity for the youth to express their opinions at platforms where their say is valued, little to no opportunity to become a published writer, surging apathy and disillusionment due to lack of trust in the system and ignorance of these problems by prominent organizations and platforms.
Through this platform, we aim to create a community that values every opinion, and for that we require our users to strictly adhere to the following community guidelines: -
1. Respect All Voices
Every opinion matters. Engage with different perspectives thoughtfully and avoid personal attacks or disrespectful comments. Healthy debates are encouraged, but hostility and hate speech are not tolerated.
2. Promote Constructive Dialogue
Focus on constructive conversations. Criticism should be respectful and aimed at ideas, not individuals. Offensive, inflammatory, or degrading language disrupts the integrity of the community.
3. Foster Inclusivity
We value diversity. Ensure that your content and interactions are inclusive and considerate of others' experiences, backgrounds, and identities. Discrimination in any form is strictly prohibited.
4. Share Thoughtfully
Be mindful of the content you share. Opinions are encouraged, but make sure your contributions are meaningful and add value to the discussion. Avoid spam, repetitive comments, or irrelevant content.
5. Uphold Integrity
Originality and honesty are key. Plagiarism or spreading false information undermines the platform's purpose. Cite sources where applicable and ensure your content is factually accurate.
6. Respect Privacy
Do not share personal or private information about yourself or others without consent. Protect the privacy and identity of individuals mentioned in your writing, especially in sensitive matters.
7. Reject Harassment and Bullying
Harassment, trolling, or bullying in any form is unacceptable. Respect the rights and dignity of others and report any abusive behavior to maintain a safe environment for all.
8. No Harmful Content
Avoid sharing content that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activities. The platform seeks to inspire and empower, not to endanger.
9. Support Creative Freedom
We celebrate creativity and open expression. While every opinion is valued, content should align with the community's standards of respect, accuracy, and consideration for others.
10. Report Violations
Help us maintain a positive space. If you encounter any content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it so our team can take appropriate action.
